Help us build a brand new garden classroom at Ayers Elementary! 

About the Project: Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class is coming to Ayers Elementary next year for the very first time! In garden class, students at all grade levels will have the opportunity to study and connect with the nature. Growing Healthy Kids proven curriculum turns the world into a safe learning environment where students can taste new foods, observe new phenomena, and get their hands dirty. To make this possible,  we need your help building the very best outdoor learning space that will be home to students, plants, and pollinators for years to come!

Help needed: At this work day, volunteers will:

• Build new garden beds with tools
• Fill beds with soil
• Sheet mulch
• Plant new plant starts for the Spring season
• Landscape
• Learn the basics of garden construction

Access Notes: Water and snacks will be provided. If you have any questions about accessibility, please reach out to our team!

You should Bring: Bring hats, water, garden gloves if you have them, sunscreen, and shoes that can get dirty. If you have electric drills, please bring these, too.

Student Service Hours: Service Hours are availible for MDUSD students seeking credit. Be sure to bring any paperwork you need signed with you.
