Join us for a Garden Work Day at Fair Oaks Elementary with GHK Garden Educator Gabriela  Gebhardt!

About the Garden: The Fair Oaks Garden is an instution at the school that has been around for 10 years. The garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for Growing Healthy Kids staff, Garden Garden Educator Gabriela  Gebhardt, community members, and students. 

Help needed: At this work day, volunteers will:

• Clean and weed garden pathways,
• Compost beds for winter planting,
• Install a Root View Garden Box, built by MDUSD High School students in the Career Pathways Program,
• Fix broken tables and benches,
• Fix and make new Garden Signs,
• Help with Rock Painting!

Access Notes: Fair Oaks Garden has ADA accessible pathways. There will not be access to a bathroom during the work day. If you have any other questions, please get in touch with us!

You should Bring: If you're handy, please bring some tools that can fix tables and benches! For your comfort, please bring a water bottle, hat, and/or sunscreen.

Student Service Hours: Service Hours are availible for MDUSD students seeking credit.
