Growing Healthy Kids is ready to celebrate the season with our free-to-attend Autumn Harvest Festival at the Riverview Middle School Garden! 

About the Workshop: Fall is an abundant time for gardeners, farmers, and communities as we celebrate the harvest. Growing Healthy Kids has prepared tasty and exciting activities for our fall workshop to make the most of the season. This event will have stations geared towards MDUSD families and staff,  so everyone can experience the joy of learning in the garden. The event will be hosted at Riverview Middle School's Garden, the site for Growing Healthy Kids field trip program. All ages are welcome! 

Activities will include:

• Pumpkin Prize Hunt
• Pumpkin Anatomy
• Squash Flatbread Pizzas
• Apple Tasting & Applesauce Making
• Good Bug/Pollinator Scavenger Hunt
• Tree Passports
• Fall Teas & Herbs
• Other Seasonal Fun! 

Access Notes: Riverview Garden is accessible with ADA compliant pathways to the outdoor kitchen and classroom area. There will be access to a bathroom.

You should Bring: For your comfort, please bring a water bottle, hat, and/or sunscreen!

Day of: Riverview Middle School is big, and the garden has it's own parking lot. Look for ribbons and you'll see the entrance! Once you park, come to the sign in table. Event Attendees will be asked to make name tags and sign media release forms.

Student Service Hours: Service Hours are availible for MDUSD students who volunteer to help put on the event! Get in touch for more details.
