Join us for a day of garden maintenance at Sun Terrace Elementary School!

About the Garden: The Sun Terrace back garden is growing, and it's not just because of the plants! Join Garden Educator Zoe Stadler to "sheet mulch" the garden, a process that beautifies the space, controls weeds, and makes it especially welcoming to students. The garden classroom at Sun Terrace hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for by Garden Educator Zoe Stadler, community members, and students.

Projects Include: At this work day, volunteers will:

• Sheet mulch the garden (cover with cardboard and woodchips)
• Other garden fun!

Access Notes: There will be access to shade and water. Activities are availible for all ages. Parts of the space are accessible to wheelchair users. If you have any questions about accessibility, please reach out to our team!

You should Bring: Bring hats, water bottles, light long sleave shirts or sunscreen for sun protection, and shoes that can get dirty. If you have a wheelbarrow, please bring it!
