Join us for a day of garden maintenance at Valle Verde Elementary School!

About the Garden: The Valle Verde school garden is a beautiful space for growing and learning! Join Garden Educator Frith O'Steen—"Mrs. O"—to work on projects that beautify the garden space and make it even more welcoming to students. The Valle Verde School Garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for by Mrs. O, community members, and students.

Projects Include: At this work day, volunteers will work on...

• Winterizing planter beds
• Weeding & Clean-up
• Rock Painting
• Garden Classroom Set-up

Accessibility Notes: There will be access to water and shade, and activities for all ages. If you have any questions about accessibility, please reach out to our team. No prior garden knowledge is necessary!

You should Bring: Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty, and close-toed shoes. Optionally, please bring gardening/work gloves (but please be sure to label them with your names!)

Service Hours: Service Hours are availible at this event for MDUSD students seeking credit. Be sure to bring any paperwork you need signed with you.
