Allegra Aldridge
Member at Large
Board of Directors
Allegra brings a depth of experience in knowing how children learn. She has been a classroom teacher for over 23 years and currently teaches first grade at El Monte Elementary, where she is a grade level lead, a member of numerous curriculum adoption committees, a member of the site leadership team and the teacher liaison for the CARES after school program. She feels privileged to be working with children and encouraging them to be curious and inquisitive on a daily basis. As an educator, she has witnessed first hand the benefits of students participating in garden science education. She is inspired when she witnesses how learning outside of the classroom can offer all students the opportunity for hands-on connections to what they are studying. Allegra was born and raised in the Bay Area and received her B.A. and teaching credential from Cal State Hayward. She is an enthusiast of all things outdoors, but her all-time favorite activities are camping, kayaking and hiking with her dogs.
