Faye Mettler

Faye brings more than 25 years of dedicated volunteer service within the MDUSD community. She has provided hands-on leadership in parent and teacher advocacy, school fundraising, and
community engagement initiatives, working collaboratively with educators, local organizations, and families to support enriching student programs and strengthen school communities. She is inspired by Growing Healthy Kids’ commitment to using gardens and outdoor spaces as living classrooms and vibrant community gathering places. 

As a former Perinatal Educator with John Muir Health and Science Instructional Assistant with MDUSD, Faye deeply values experiential learning and believes that connecting children to the natural world fosters curiosity, confidence, and lifelong wellness.
A common thread throughout her work is a passion for encouraging self-discovery and well-being in both children and families. In her own time, Faye enjoys hiking, gardening, paddle boarding, meditation, reading, listening to true crime podcasts, painting, and exploring new creative projects.
