Rio Vista Elementary
Jorge Espinosa is an artist, ecological designer, and educator born and raised in Honduras, currently growing roots in California. Jorge is passionate about climbing trees, jumping into creeks, and co-creating learning environments that facilitate the mutually nourishing relationship between communities and the ecosystems they are embedded in.
Since 2022, Jorge has engaged the Rio Vista Elementary School community and its neighbors in Bay Point, as well as hundreds of volunteers in the design and installation of Pacifica Garden Farm. Affectionately known as Granjita Pacifica, this food forest style educational edible landscape seeks to nurture community through understory gardens and outdoor classrooms where we can learn-by-doing agriculture in the healthiest and ecologically attuned ways we can.
