Richard Avelino

Richard Avelino is a graduate from CSU Monterey Bay, with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science. Now working with the Sequoia Elementary School faculty, he hopes to teach students about the wonderful world of the outdoors!

Focusing on bringing science and community together, Richard has worked within the private, state, and federal sectors of environmental conservation and bioremediation. He has lived all across California, and understands that with a little bit of love (and maybe a bit of elbow grease), anyone can grow their own sustainable communities.

Richard is just starting his life in the Bay Area, and spends his offtime volunteering at beach cleanups, brushing up on his painting skills, and checking out the latest video game debuts. He looks forward to working with Growing Healthy Kids to grow healthy gardens, healthy communities, and, of course, healthy kids!
