Sam Gross
Operations Manager
Growing Healthy Kids
Sam Gross brings deep experience in operations and administration to their role as Operations Manager at Growing Healthy Kids. Before joining Growing Healthy Kids, Sam worked as a government paralegal supporting investigations and prosecutions of Wall Street financial fraud. In this role, they developed a sharp eye for record keeping, project management, and compliance. In two and a half years with Growing Healthy Kids, they have translated this experience to overseeing and streamlining key administrative functions that have enabled the program’s expansion to eight new schools.
As an educator, Sam has witnessed the transformative impact of garden education in MDUSD Schools. In garden class with “Teacher Sam”, students at Sun Terrace Elementary in Concord and Sequoia Elementary in Pleasant Hill know to expect hands-on science, tasty garden recipes, and a fair share of silly voices! Sam views their role as an educator as an opportunity to connect students with nature, science, nutrition and each other. Originally from New York City, Sam’s interests include forests, plant structures, biking, long walks, and audiobooks!
