Soren Santos

Soren Santos is a Garden Farmer with Growing Healthy Kids, working primarily at the Granjita Pacifica Garden Farm adjacent to Rio Vista Elementary in Bay Point. His background is a bit of a kaleidoscope, but includes time as a bicycle mechanic, a land stewardship advocate, and an apprentice farmer growing vegetables and cut flowers. He has also taught at the middle and high school levels, as well as volunteered with Growing Healthy Kids at the elementary level. Soren has a BA in Drama from UC Irvine, and still acts professionally in theaters around the Bay Area. He is currently enrolled in the Natural History and Sustainability program at Merritt College, with coursework in natural history and urban agroecology.

When not working on the farm, the stage, or taking classes, Soren can be found mountaineering, cycling, camping, and generally enjoying the wild(er) places of the world. He's thrilled to add his experience to the already wonderful work that Growing Healthy Kids is doing.
