Tamara Helfer

Tamara Helfer, PhD, is the founder, former Project Director, and inaugural Board President of Growing Healthy Kids. She is now a member at large of the Growing Healthy Kids Board of Directors. A former research astronomer who pivoted to a second career in science education and program development, she is passionate about building engaging, high-quality programs for learners of all ages and levels. She enjoys hiking, nature photography, and reading and translating Yiddish texts.
