Join us at Hidden Valley Elementary for a garden workday!
About the Garden: The Hidden Valley Garden & Orchard sits beside the cafeteria and hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. This fall, volunteers built new garden beds to sit side-by-side with the longstanding orchard trees. The garden is cared for by Garden Educators Jana Lang and Kristina Hindes, community members, and students.
About Growing Healthy Kids: Growing Healthy Kids is a community-based nonprofit that’s proud to make garden class and other outdoor education and farm-to-school programs possible in MDUSD. Growing Healthy Kids operates garden class at 22 elementary schools in MDUSD, serving over 12,000 students.
Help needed: At this work day, volunteers will:
Mulch the garden area
Prepare signs for garden beds
